Site Clearance and Preparation
The groundworks phase typically begins with an initial clearance of the site to remove existing structures, debris and vegetation so the land is left clear for excavation and the subsequent installation of foundations and footings for a build, or the sub-bases for all hard surface installations such as driveways, garden patios and pathways.
This process includes the removal of waste, using either skips or a waste management service such as grab hire or tipper hire.
Earthworks and Levelling
Using machinery, plant and hand tools, groundwork contractors begin the earthworks phase where we excavate in bulk to create routes for the drainage and utilities. This stage also involves grading and shaping the land to create a stable surface and a build-ready site.
Clients in Cobham, Epsom, Horley, Horsham and the surrounding areas can leave the hire and use of machinery in the hands of our team.
Pipework and Trenching
It is important that the groundworks phase ties in with a project’s original design. We apply accuracy in digging and trenching so that the route for drainage systems, soakaways, pipework and utilities is not only safe, but also planned in a way that is 100% futureproof.
Should pipework or utility upgrades ever be needed, the due care of our groundwork contractors at this stage will keep things simple.
