We can lay foundations and bases in the following styles:
Pile Foundations
This is a deep foundation that transfers structural weight into the deeper soil or rock layers when the upper layer of soil is found to be weak or unstable. These foundations consist of long columns that are drilled, or driven into place, to provide better stability.
This type of foundation installation also stops settlement.
Raft Foundations
Also referred to as a mat foundation, a raft foundation is a large slab made from reinforced concrete that supports the full weight of a build, causing it to “float” on the ground. This foundation can distribute weight over a larger area and in weaker soil conditions.
Steel bars can be used to add reinforcement to the concrete base.
Strip Foundations
Typically, a strip foundation installation is poured into a trench to support the weight of low-to-medium rise builds, including home extensions. This foundation type is cost-effective and simple for our contractors to install, particularly so in more stable ground.
This is a shallower foundation laid as a continuous strip.
